Our Environment
Here at Tiny Smiles Early Learning Centre we have three specific learning and play areas.
Under 2’s, over 2’s and outdoors.
Under 2’s
Our under 2’s room is a wonderfully peaceful space which inspires our youngest tamariki to both learn & grow with our sensory touch & soft play area. We have a specific sleep room which allows our sleepers to get some great rest & recharge for the rest of their day & our experienced Kaiako are always on hand for a cuddle or some kai!
Over 2’s
As you walk through the gate into our wide Over 2’s classroom, you will be greeted by laughter and smiles! The children can be found building with blocks, cooking up a storm in our play kitchen or busy crafting artworks or play dough creations.
Before our tamariki enjoy the delicious and nutritious kai that our homemaker Karen has prepared for us, we sit down and say our karakia.
Tiny Smiles tamariki are always busy learning and playing whilst being loved and cared for by our amazing kaiako. Our tamariki always have the opportunity to head outside to our adventurous outdoors learning area, where the children can challenge themselves to climb, jump or produce amazing creations in the sand pit.
Outdoors
Both of our indoor classrooms lead to our extensive outdoor learning and play area. The all weather turf allows plenty of space for running, jumping, playing and climbing.
Our earthen bark area and sand pit encourage exploration of textures, participating in water play, getting dirty and constructing some truly epic creations!
We also spend our time outdoors tending to our vegetable garden, learning about our land, and caring for our budgies, Hairy and Maclary.
